The wait for the next chapter in the Pati Patni Aur Woh franchise is officially over. In a major announcement made today, April 18, 2026, the makers of the spiritual sequel—officially titled Pati Patni Aur Woh Do—have confirmed that the film will hit global cinemas on May 15, 2026.

While the 2019 hit featured Kartik Aaryan, this new installment brings a fresh energy with Ayushmann Khurrana taking the lead, supported by an expanded cast that promises more comedic chaos than ever before.
The “Shikari” First Look Poster
Along with the date announcement, T-Series and BR Studios unveiled a quirky first-look poster that has already gone viral. The poster features Ayushmann Khurrana as the hapless Prajapati Pandey, trapped in a net while a tiger sits calmly beside him.
The tagline—“Shikari khud hogaya shikaar!” (The hunter has become the hunted)—suggests that unlike the first film’s philandering husband, Ayushmann’s character might be the one struggling to escape a complicated romantic trap.
A Bigger “Woh” and a Fresh Cast
Director Mudassar Aziz, who helmed the 2019 remake, returns to the director’s chair. However, the cast has undergone a significant overhaul to breathe new life into the franchise:
- The Pati: Ayushmann Khurrana steps in as the middle-class hero, bringing his signature brand of relatable, “everyman” humor to the role.
- The Patni: Wamiqa Gabbi reportedly plays the wife, marking a major Bollywood milestone for the talented actress.
- The “Woh”: In a twist, the film features Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh, adding extra layers to the classic love triangle.
Unlike the previous film, which featured two female leads, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is being marketed as a “love square” or a “chaotic comedy of errors” involving three leading ladies.
Release Timing: From Holi to May
The film was originally slated for a March 4, 2026 release to coincide with the Holi festival. However, production delays and a crowded early-year calendar led the makers to push the date to May 15.
This new slot places the film in the heart of the summer holiday season, though it will face stiff competition at the box office, arriving just one day after the much-anticipated South Indian film Karuppu starring Suriya.

Our Perspective
At bollywoodview.in, we believe the transition to Ayushmann Khurrana is a brilliant move for this franchise. While Kartik Aaryan’s Chintu Tyagi was a massive success, Ayushmann has a unique knack for making “love-triangle” troubles feel both hilarious and deeply human. With Sara Ali Khan and Wamiqa Gabbi in the mix, the chemistry on screen is bound to be fresh. Mark your calendars for May 15—it looks like the “shikari” is about to give us the biggest laugh of the summer!
